Field Guides September 10, 2002, 10:17 a.m. I don't care if it's cliched, I love the Scott Amphitheatre. The tulip trees are intended to create a Greco-Roman column look, I think, but I prefer them over cold pillars of stone. I ordered two field guides today, Newcomb's Wildflower Guide and Peterson's Trees and Shrubs. I feel tempted by the Field Guide to Wild Edible Plants, too, but I'll hold off. I think. Oh, I'm tempted, though.
